Eartha Wigfall’s Client Choice Windfall

Client Choice Works!

Eartha Wigfall, a first time guest at this morning’s Client Choice pantry, is a shining and endearing example of why this weekly offering is so popular at Tricounty Family Ministries.  “I used to come here for the emergency grocery bag service, but then I saw the sign at the front counter and read about Client Choice and decided to come here and check it out. I love it, it’s excellent. We love that we get to choose what we want,” Eartha exclaimed.

Eartha, originally from Calhoun County, lives alone in an apartment in the north area near Spruill Avenue. The 82 year-old lady came here today with two friends she knows from church, Margaret Wright and Naomi Shepherd. They all promise to return next week, and the week after that, now that they know about Client Choice.  They left with their station wagon bursting with fresh foods they will prepare and eat for the coming week.

Eartha’s friend Margaret with Abe, a beloved member of our staff, helped the ladies to their car with their groceries.

Eartha Wigfall is a N. Charleston resident that loves our Client Choice program.

Our beautiful, smiling volunteer/intern, Sabrina, helped our Client Choice guests select and pack their groceries today.

Client Choice was started in April, 2018 to provide more specific choices for Tricounty Family Ministries’ guests to fill their home pantry with selections from our own. Guests select from cereal, grits, canned fruit, rice, pasta, canned meats, milk and more every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

As many of our guests do when they visit Tricounty Family Ministries, Eartha and her friends learned about other services we provide to help them improve the quality of their lives and take steps towards improved sustainability.. For Eartha, that meant learning about our Healing Hands and their ability to help her receive properly fitted new dentures and clothes from our clothing program just down the hall. She’s coming back next week for those, and another visit to Client Choice.
